Jokowi to Campaign in Central Java Mid-July With Son's Party

Indonesian President Joko Widodo, commonly known as Jokowi, is set to embark on a political tour of Central Java in mid-July. This visit follows his recent political engagements in Lampung province at the end of June and is part of an effort to bolster the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), led by his youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep.

The agenda for Jokowi's Central Java tour is currently being finalized, with the PSI's Central Java Regional Chairman, Antonius Yogo, confirming the plans after meeting with the President. "Hopefully, it can proceed in the middle of this month, July," Yogo stated, indicating that the exact dates and locations are pending the President's schedule.

Yogo emphasized that the PSI's regional leadership is fully prepared to welcome Jokowi across various districts and cities in Central Java. He claimed that the party's organizational structure is nearly complete, extending from the provincial level down to the village level in all 35 regencies and cities. "We are complete. The structure of the management down to the village level is also ready. We are just waiting to follow the schedule and the points that will be covered by the President during his tour," Yogo added.

The PSI views Central Java as a crucial region, often referred to as the "Gajah" (Elephant) stronghold, implying significant political importance. Jokowi's personal involvement and visible support are seen as vital for consolidating the party's base and potentially expanding its influence in the province.

This tour marks a continuation of Jokowi's commitment to assist the PSI. His previous trip to Lampung involved attending the Regional Work Meeting of the PSI's Bandar Lampung City branch and engaging with local communities. The upcoming Central Java visit is expected to follow a similar pattern of party-focused events and public interactions.
