Jonas Vingegaard Completes Cycling's Grand Slam with Giro d'Italia Victory

Jonas Vingegaard has conquered the Giro d'Italia, adding the final Grand Tour title to his impressive cycling resume. The 29-year-old Dane secured his victory on Sunday, May 31, marking a significant achievement in his career.

With this win, Vingegaard joins an elite group of only eight cyclists in history to have won all three major Grand Tours: the Giro d'Italia, the Tour de France, and the Vuelta a España. He previously claimed the Tour de France in 2022 and 2023, and the Vuelta a España last year.

Vingegaard's dominant performance throughout the Giro, which he controlled for three weeks, culminated in a final victory margin of 5 minutes and 22 seconds over Austria's Felix Gall. The Danish cyclist expressed deep emotion at the finish line, embracing his wife and children, who he said represent "everything" to him.
