Jordanian FA to present Baddou Zaki as new national team coach

The Jordanian Football Association is set to formally introduce Moroccan coach Baddou Zaki as the new head of the national team. The presentation will take place at the association's headquarters on Thursday, August 20, where Zaki's action plan for the "Nashama" (the national team) will also be unveiled.

Zaki, a prominent figure in African football, has signed a one-year contract with the option to extend his tenure. This appointment is a strategic move by the Jordanian FA as they gear up for future competitions, notably the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, which Jordan is co-hosting with Saudi Arabia.

Baddou Zaki brings a wealth of experience to the role. As a player, he was part of the Moroccan squad that reached the Round of 16 in the 1986 FIFA World Cup and was named African Footballer of the Year in the same year. His coaching career includes leading Morocco to the final of the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations and managing several Moroccan clubs, as well as the national teams of Sudan and Niger.
