Joshua Duerksen Finishes 14th in Formula 2 Spanish Grand Prix Feature Race

Paraguayan racing driver Joshua Duerksen concluded his participation in the FIA Formula 2 Spanish Grand Prix with a 14th-place finish in the main feature race at the Montmeló circuit. Duerksen, representing Invicta Racing, had a challenging weekend that saw him start the feature race from seventh place, a drop from his expected second, due to a penalty incurred after qualifying.

The race began with an early safety car deployment following an incident involving Oliver Goethe on the first lap. When the competition resumed, Duerksen found himself in eleventh place, managing his hard compound tires. The strategic tire management was crucial in the initial laps, anticipating the mandatory pit stop for a tire change.

As the race progressed, Duerksen moved up the order, reaching fifth place by lap 18. However, a slightly delayed pit stop strategy saw him fall back. He rejoined the race in last place after his mandatory stop but began a determined charge through the field.

Ultimately, Duerksen secured 14th position. The feature race was won by his teammate, Brazilian Rafael Câmara, who started from pole position. Nikola Tsolov of Campos Racing finished second, becoming the new championship leader, followed by Alexander Dunne of Rodin Motorsport in third.
