Josué Caicedo debuts for FC Barcelona B

Ecuadorian defender Josué Caicedo made his debut for FC Barcelona Atlètic, playing the final 30 minutes of their 2-1 preseason victory over L’Hospitalet. The match, held at the Camp d’Esports, marked Caicedo's first appearance for the Barça Atlètic squad under coach Juliano Belletti.

Caicedo entered the game in the 60th minute alongside teammates Villar and Gistau. At that point, Barça Atlètic held a 0-2 lead, with goals from Ignasi Quer and Shane Kluivert in the first half. The team displayed superiority in possession and created several chances against the home team.

During his time on the field, Caicedo focused primarily on defensive duties and maintaining intensity without the ball. He also contributed to offensive plays and supported his teammates. L’Hospitalet managed to pull one goal back in the 80th minute through an error, making the score 1-2 and creating a tense finish, but Barcelona secured the win.

The 18-year-old Caicedo recently joined Barça Atlètic from Liga de Quito. He arrives to strengthen the left-back position and add defensive versatility for the upcoming official tournament. This preseason match was Barcelona Atlètic's first win of the preparation period, showcasing a style based on possession and ball control. The team will continue its preparations with further friendly matches against Europa and Reus.
