JPJ urges RXZ Members organizers to improve risk management

Malaysia's Road Transport Department (JPJ) has called on organizers of RXZ Members events to adopt more systematic risk management strategies. The department stressed the importance of prioritizing safety and traffic flow before, during, and after such events.

Risk management needs to cover driver and vehicle qualifications, traffic control, and enforcement strategies, focusing on offenses that can threaten the safety and lives of road users.

During a consultation session with organizers, JPJ's Senior Enforcement Director Datuk Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan highlighted that risk management should encompass driver and vehicle eligibility, traffic control, and enforcement. The focus, he noted, should be on violations that endanger road users.

JPJ also suggested a phased approach, beginning with early engagement, education, and awareness campaigns. Strict enforcement actions would only be considered if necessary. Organizers are also required to provide an online registration platform that verifies participants hold valid driving licenses and that their motorcycles have valid road tax and insurance. Participants must also submit photos of their motorcycles from various angles.

Muhammad Kifli emphasized that close collaboration between organizers, JPJ, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), and other relevant agencies is crucial for ensuring events are conducted orderly, safely, and responsibly. JPJ supports well-organized motorcycling community activities that comply with regulations, while public safety and the protection of road users remain paramount.
