Juan Gabriel Featured on National Lottery Tickets Ahead of 10th Death Anniversary

In a poignant tribute just days before the 10th anniversary of his passing, the image of the beloved Mexican singer Juan Gabriel adorns the tickets for draw number 2896 of the National Lottery. The "Divo de Juárez," as he was widely known, is being honored with this special draw, which will take place on Friday, August 28.

The lottery's Superior Draw number 2896 features a grand prize of 17 million pesos across two series, with a total distributable pool of 51 million pesos. The tickets, now available for purchase, showcase a variety of designs featuring different images of Juan Gabriel throughout his illustrious career, from his early days to some of his most memorable performances.

The tribute was officially presented at a ceremony attended by Olivia Salomón, Director General of the National Lottery; Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, Governor of Michoacán; and Tamara Sosa, Secretary of Culture for the state, among other notable figures. During the event, Salomón emphasized Juan Gabriel's profound influence on multiple generations and his impact extending far beyond music.

Individual lottery tickets are priced at 40 pesos, with a full strip costing 800 pesos. This initiative by the National Lottery joins the various commemorations planned for the tenth anniversary of Juan Gabriel's death on August 28, 2016, celebrating the enduring legacy of one of Mexico's most cherished artists.
