Juan Ortega and David de Miranda honored at Antequera bullfight

Matadors Juan Ortega and David de Miranda were celebrated at the Goyesca Bullfight in Antequera, both being carried out of the ring on the shoulders of their supporters. Ortega earned two ears for his performance, while de Miranda was awarded three.

Ortega's success came with the fourth bull of the afternoon. He began with a kneeling capote pass and a series of verónicas. His muleta work was described as classy and exceptionally dedicated, captivating the audience. His first bull was less cooperative, requiring Ortega to exert significant effort to elicit the best moments, particularly on his right side.

David de Miranda secured two ears from the third bull, a noble animal from the Astolfi ranch. His performance was characterized by smooth, controlled passes on both horns, ending with tight manoletinas that thrilled the crowd. He faced a weaker bull in his second turn, showcasing his best passes on the left horn and demonstrating bravery by getting close to the bull's horns.

Pablo Aguado had a challenging day. His first bull proved difficult, offering little opportunity with the capote and posing some risks to the cuadrillas. Aguado's muleta work on this bull, especially on the left, produced the most notable moments. In his second encounter, he received the bull with chicuelinas but faced an animal that weakened during the performance. A failure with the sword prevented him from earning any accolades.
