Juan Riquelme Angulo, an 18-year-old forward for Independiente del Valle, is rapidly gaining recognition as one of Ecuador's most exciting young attacking prospects. In his debut season with the first team, Angulo has seized opportunities, contributing goals, assists, and decisive performances that have captured attention for his current performance and future potential.

Despite not being a consistent starter, Angulo has played in 16 matches for Independiente del Valle, accumulating 530 minutes on the field. During this time, he has directly contributed to six goals – five goals and one assist – demonstrating remarkable efficiency with a goal involvement every 71.6 minutes. This statistic places him among the team's most effective attackers relative to playing time.

Angulo has scored crucial goals in both the national league and the Copa Ecuador. His recent goal against Deportivo Cuenca on August 2nd secured a vital victory for Independiente del Valle, extending their lead in the Liga Pro standings.
