A federal judge has extended an injunction halting the controversial renovation of the White House's East Wing ballroom, a project initiated by former President Donald Trump. Judge Richard Leon, appointed by former President George W. Bush, ruled that the expansion plan requires Congressional approval, a decision that has drawn sharp criticism from Trump himself. The former president took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to denounce the ruling, labeling Judge Leon as "highly political" and "out of control."

Trump vehemently argued that the ballroom project is crucial for national security and dismissed the judge's intervention as a "travesty of our justice system." He asserted that no judge should obstruct this "historic and militarily significant" undertaking. The $400 million renovation plan had already led to the demolition of parts of the historic East Wing, including the former First Lady's office, sparking concerns about the preservation of the iconic building.
