Juho Juhantalo Plans to Raise 15 Million Euros for Meilahti Stadium: 'We Have to Do It Ourselves'

Helsinki's Pesäpallo team, Puna-Mustat (PuMu), has launched its season in the men's Ykköspesís with an impressive six wins in as many games, solidifying its position as a top contender. This strong start follows a near-promotion last year, which chairman Juho Juhantalo now views as a beneficial delay, allowing the organization more time to mature.

To ensure sustained success, PuMu is embarking on an ambitious fundraising campaign, aiming to collect 15 million euros for significant stadium upgrades. "We have to do it ourselves," Juhantalo declared, emphasizing the club's self-reliance.

The team's home ground at Meilahti has seen recent improvements, including 272 covered and 160 uncovered seats, along with updated media, official, and concession areas. However, the new restroom facilities were not ready for the season's start, leading to the use of portable toilets during a recent home game. Juhantalo noted that while these upgrades are appreciated, the facilities remain basic after decades of wear.
