Julio Menchaca presents fourth government report, highlighting investment, security and public works

Hidalgo Governor Julio Menchaca used his fourth government report to present investment, security and public works as the central achievements of his administration.

Menchaca said projects worth 147 billion pesos had been secured, while 25 billion pesos went to public works. He also highlighted a federal project portfolio that includes two trains, roads, housing and sanitation. The governor described Hidalgo as going through a period of economic and social transformation, saying the indicators showed improved living conditions for residents.

Security formed another major part of the report. Menchaca said Hidalgo ranked among Mexico’s 10 safest states and reported a reduction in high-impact crimes. Anti-fuel-theft operations led to the seizure of 7 million liters of fuel. Authorities also dismantled 50 criminal cells and carried out 1,298 searches, while 2,490 people were placed under judicial proceedings.

On public finances, Menchaca said state debt fell from 3.906 billion pesos to 2.274 billion, a reduction of 42%. He also reported that Hidalgo moved 11 places in the competitiveness ranking, from 25th to 14th, and that 163 million pesos had been invested in industrial parks.

The governor said authorities opened 95 investigations into alleged crimes involving corruption. Those cases led to proceedings against 25 former officials and 10 former mayors. The state also added 386 properties worth more than 1.2 billion pesos to public assets. Menchaca said the administration created more than 39,000 jobs and supported employment through scholarships, while 750 million pesos went to a data center, forensic infrastructure, tactical vehicles, drones and specialized equipment.
