July 15 deadline: Students Loan Trust Fund closes applications for 2025/2026 academic year

The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) in Ghana has announced that the application portal for its Regular Students Loan and Students Loan Plus schemes will close on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. This deadline applies to the 2025/2026 academic year. Applicants currently in the process of applying are strongly urged to complete and submit their applications before the deadline. The closure is intended to facilitate timely disbursements for the upcoming academic year and to adequately prepare for the 2026/2027 academic year. According to SLTF Chief Executive Officer Dr. Saajida Shiraz, the fund has disbursed GH¢170,493,187.50 to 47,988 beneficiaries under the Regular Students Loan package. Additionally, GH¢17,205,184.13 has been disbursed as full fee-coverage loans to 1,426 students, including 610 law students, through the Students Loan Plus initiative. These disbursements are paid directly to their respective tertiary institutions. Dr. Shiraz stated that these figures demonstrate the SLTF's ongoing commitment to broadening access to tertiary education financing nationwide.
