Jung Eun-ji Discusses New Album 'Summer, I' and Apink's Support

Jung Eun-ji, a member of the K-pop group Apink and a solo artist, is gearing up for the release of her fifth mini-album, 'Summer, I.' The album, which explores various facets of love through diverse musical genres, is set to drop on August 11. Jung Eun-ji has been actively involved in the album's production, including writing and composing the title track, 'Wave.'

During a music listening session held on August 6 at the Spigen Hall in Seoul, Jung Eun-ji shared insights into her creative process. She revealed that she worked on the album while on tour with Apink, often communicating with her bandmates via video calls. "When I was guiding the songs, I played them for the members as I went along," she said. "The members all said that they could see how much care and attention went into each song, which made me feel good."

When asked if any of her Apink bandmates possessed a "Top 100" ear for music, Jung Eun-ji playfully responded, "Unfortunately, I don't think any of the members have that." She also reflected on her career, noting that as Apink approaches its 15th anniversary, she feels she has already achieved many of the dreams she had as a young aspiring singer.

This solo release comes nearly four years after her remake album 'log' in November 2022 and over six years since her fourth mini-album 'Simple' in July 2020. Jung Eun-ji acknowledged the difference in workload between solo projects and group activities, noting that Apink's role distribution allows for more breathing room, whereas working alone makes the reality of it harder to grasp.
