By partnering with verified community-based organizations, the program aims to unlock practical, on-the-ground solutions that can directly enhance livelihoods and bolster the delivery of critical services, from nutrition and healthcare to improvements in schools and sanitation systems.

Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Muhammad Pate, articulated the vision behind this decentralized approach, highlighting its potential to foster a more inclusive and effective development model. The timeline, running from March to December 2026, allows for a comprehensive implementation phase, monitored by a dedicated Programme Management Unit within the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

Interventions may include community nutrition support, provision of essential health commodities such as micronutrients and therapeutic foods, as well as minor infrastructure improvements in schools, health facilities, and sanitation systems.

The sum of ₦17 billion will be released into a ring-fenced special intervention account to support implementation, monitoring, communication, and accountability.
