Justice minister views planned terror attack on Danish school with utmost seriousness

Danish Justice Minister Nicolai Wammen expressed grave concern over a planned terror attack targeting Hadsten School, emphasizing that authorities intervened before any harm could occur. Three teenage boys, aged 15 and 16, have been charged with attempting terrorism after allegedly planning to kill and injure individuals at the school.

I see with the greatest seriousness that three teenage boys have today been charged with planning to kill and injure several people at Hadsten School.

The alleged plot involved online communication via Discord and Telegram, with the intention of frightening the population. The preparations were reportedly underway leading up to August 3, 2026, but the boys were arrested before they could execute their plan. The charges were presented during a preliminary hearing at Randers Court, where the defendants pleaded not guilty.

I am very satisfied that our authorities have intervened in time, and that the police after the arrests no longer see any danger to the specific school.

Wammen assured the public that the country's authorities continuously monitor the threat level and take necessary actions. He acknowledged the unease within the local community but stated that police are working with the municipality and the school to ensure safety. Favrskov Municipality has activated its emergency plan and will hold informational meetings for parents and staff.
