Kaduna emerges third best performing state in Nigeria

Kaduna State has achieved the third-highest performance ranking among Nigerian states in the 2025 Phillips Consulting State Performance Index, earning an Excellent Four-Star Rating. The state government announced the achievement Monday, describing it as independent validation of the reform agenda and development programs implemented under Governor Uba Sani's administration.

Commissioner for Information and Culture Ahmed Maiyaki stated that the ranking reflects significant progress across vital sectors, including governance, fiscal management, infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, security, and social inclusion. The assessment reportedly considered objective performance indicators alongside citizen feedback, highlighting the administration's efforts to strengthen institutions and improve governance outcomes.

This recognition is significant because it comes from an independent and credible assessment that combines objective performance indicators with citizen feedback. It confirms that Kaduna State is making steady progress in strengthening institutions, improving governance outcomes and expanding opportunities for its citizens.

This recognition follows other recent assessments, including Kaduna's top ranking on the 2025 Transparency and Integrity Index and its highest score nationwide on the Control of Corruption Indicator. Maiyaki emphasized that these accolades demonstrate the measurable impact of the administration's reforms and investments. He reaffirmed Governor Sani's commitment to fostering a peaceful, prosperous, transparent, and globally competitive Kaduna through sustained reforms and people-oriented policies.

The government also extended appreciation to citizens, development partners, traditional and religious institutions, and civil society organizations for their contributions to the state's development. Since taking office in May 2023, Governor Sani has focused on fiscal discipline, infrastructure development, healthcare and education improvements, agricultural growth, and enhanced security.
