KAIST President Bae Moo-sik inaugurated, vows to lead with AI

Bae Moo-sik has been inaugurated as the 18th president of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), unveiling a new vision to lead the institution as a "globally innovative leading university with strong fundamentals."

During his inauguration ceremony at the KAIST main campus in Daejeon on July 10, Bae outlined his commitment to cultivating talent equipped for the artificial intelligence (AI) era. His plan emphasizes nurturing individuals with strong foundational knowledge, humanities expertise, and proficiency in AI technologies. "We will create an AI-native campus by fundamentally transforming education, research, and administration around AI," Bae declared.
