KAJ band members to compete in popular Swedish quiz show 'På Spåret'

Axel Åhman and Jakob Norrgård, members of the Swedish-Finnish band KAJ, are set to compete in "På Spåret," one of Sweden's most popular television quiz shows. The program, known in Finland as "Hengaillaan," features two-person teams, meaning bandmate Kevin Holmström will not participate.

The duo expressed their excitement and determination to win the competition. "It feels really fun and exciting. We are aiming for victory, but at least we want to lose with dignity," Åhman told the local newspaper Vasabladet. Norrgård added that participating in the show felt like a must-do experience, similar to Sweden's Eurovision selection show, Melodifestivalen.

KAJ's members underwent a trial competition in Stockholm to prepare. They acknowledged that Holmström's absence would be felt, as his knowledge of music and sports would have been beneficial. To prepare, Åhman and Norrgård have been reviewing geography and practicing with Trivial Pursuit questions.

"På Spåret" has been running since 1987 and typically features well-known Swedish personalities. The KAJ duo will face tough competition in their initial group, which includes returning contestants Amy Deasismont and Uje Brandelius, as well as Johanna Wagrell and Johan Hurtig. Norrgård described their group as a "group of death."

KAJ, which represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest last year, has previously appeared on "Allsång på Skansen," another highly popular Swedish entertainment program. "På Spåret" premieres on SVT on September 18 and will also be broadcast by Yle. Currently, KAJ is preparing for a concert in Vaasa.
