Kano governor woos Kannywood to promote Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda

Kano Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf wants Kannywood and other creative-industry players to help promote President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and his own Kano First Agenda.

Yusuf made the appeal while receiving members of Tripple for Renewed Hope at the Coronation Hall in Kano. His spokesman, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, announced the meeting in a statement.

“The creative industry remains an important avenue for youth empowerment, job creation and the promotion of Kano’s rich cultural heritage,” Yusuf said. He pledged to create a more supportive environment for singers, filmmakers, actors and other creative professionals to develop their talents and become economically self-reliant.

The governor also urged Kannywood practitioners to use their platforms to promote peace, unity and development, while presenting a positive image of Kano. He said the government would strengthen its partnership with the industry and support initiatives that create sustainable opportunities.

Hausa singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara praised Yusuf as a patient and hardworking leader committed to transforming the state. Umar Haruna Doguwa, chairman of the Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, said the party remained committed to a peaceful electoral process and would win the 2027 general elections. “The APC is committed to ensuring a peaceful, credible and hitch-free election,” he said.
