Kano police chief vows to tackle thuggery, drug trafficking with taskforce

Kano State Police Commissioner Ibrahim Adamu Bakori has pledged full support to the Kano State Multi-Agency Taskforce on Drugs and Illicit Trafficking, vowing to combat thuggery and drug trafficking. The commitment came during a courtesy visit by the task force chairman, Muhuyi Rimin-Gado, to the command headquarters.

He assured the task force of the command's backing through joint operations, intelligence sharing, and the deployment of tactical resources to cleanse Kano of drug peddlers and thugs.

The command will partner with the task force to rid the state of drug abuse, which has been identified as the major cause of thuggery (Fadan Daba) and fighting among thugs and other miscreants, especially within the state metropolis.

The police chief urged parents, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders to actively participate by providing timely information and supporting preventive measures. He warned that individuals involved in illicit drugs or thuggery would face severe legal consequences, reiterating the command's dedication to a drug-free and crime-free society.
