Karditsa: 17-Year-Old Sentenced to 8 Years for Singer's Murder

A 17-year-old defendant has received an eight-year prison sentence for the murder of Giorgos Tsitoglou, a well-known singer in Karditsa, Greece. The verdict was delivered by the Juvenile Court, which found the teenager guilty of homicide while in a calm mental state.

The court, following the prosecutor's recommendation, acquitted a 16-year-old who had been charged with complicity in the killing. The trial was conducted behind closed doors.

The incident occurred on the morning of Sunday, March 22, when Tsitoglou was discovered with stab wounds in the Kaminades area of Karditsa. Reports indicate that the singer was at his residence when two young individuals visited. An intense argument reportedly erupted between them, the causes of which were investigated by authorities.

The dispute escalated, leading to the singer being fatally stabbed. Following the attack, the two youths fled the scene. Security camera footage played a crucial role in the authorities' investigation, aiding in the identification of the suspects.
