Karpacz Economic Forum to Focus on Higher Education's Future

Poland is set to host the 35th Economic Forum in Karpacz from September 8-10, 2026. This event is billed as the largest international conference in Central and Eastern Europe, expecting over 6,000 attendees. The guest list includes prominent figures from politics, business, science, and culture.

Notably, the participation of academics is growing, with over 40 university authorities attending last year. A significant panel, "The Future of Higher Education – Innovation, Cooperation, Mobility," will feature leaders from leading universities. They will discuss the role of innovation, the importance of academic mobility, and effective inter-institutional cooperation models. The conversation aims to foster competitiveness, strengthen research networks, and shape an open and resilient academic environment.

Participants in this discussion include Mária Kardis from the University of Prešov, Marie-Hélène Jobin from the University of Luxembourg, Andrzej Szeptycki from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Antoine Kouchner from the University Paris Cité, Rafał Wiśniowski from AGH University of Science and Technology, and Oleg Vostrykh from the Scientific Park of Kyiv Polytechnic. Katarzyna Zamaro, operational director at the SAIL Foundation, will moderate.

The forum will commence on Tuesday, September 8, with the presentation of the "SGH and Economic Forum Report 2025." This report is described as the most comprehensive scientific analysis of the economic state in Poland and other Central and Eastern European countries. The Lower Silesian Voivodeship Marshal's Office is the main partner of the event.
