Kassab criticizes Milei's insult to Moraes, says Argentine should be more restrained

Gilberto Kassab, president of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and a former vice-presidential candidate, has criticized Argentine President Javier Milei for his offensive remarks about Brazilian Supreme Court Minister Alexandre de Moraes. During a convention in São Paulo, where Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) was nominated for president, Kassab stated that Milei, as a head of state, should be more measured in his public statements.

"I think he [Milei], as president of the Republic, should have a little more restraint," Kassab told the publication Painel. He acknowledged, however, that Milei has the right to visit Brazil to campaign for political allies.

At the event, the Argentine leader also directed strong criticism towards Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and endorsed the candidacy of Flávio Bolsonaro. Kassab highlighted Caiado's focus on discussing proposals as a distinguishing factor for his campaign, contrasting it with Lula and Bolsonaro. "This is the differential in Caiado's candidacy; we are truly focused on presenting Brazil with a good candidate, with proposals, history, and credibility," he declared.
