Katy Perry and Linkin Park Lead Rock in Rio in Lisbon with 200,000 Fans from 125 Countries

The eleventh edition of Rock in Rio Lisboa kicked off with a massive turnout, attracting around 200,000 fans from 125 countries over its first weekend, June 20-21. American singer Katy Perry and the band Linkin Park were the main draws, headlining the event held at Parque Tejo/Papa Francisco in the Portuguese capital.

Katy Perry headlined the opening day, which was dedicated to pop music. Her performance closed a night that also featured sets by Charlie Puth, Brazilian artist Pedro Sampaio, and fellow American singer Bebe Rexha. DJ Alok concluded the programming on the Music Valley stage with an outdoor set.

The second day shifted focus to rock music, highlighted by the return of Linkin Park to the festival after a twelve-year absence. The American band topped a lineup that also included Cypress Hill, The Pretty Reckless, and Grandson. Other notable acts included British band Kaiser Chiefs and Brazilian metal legends Sepultura, who performed as part of their farewell tour.

Organizers reported full capacity for the first weekend and noted that attendees hailed from over 125 countries. A study by Marktest indicated a high overall satisfaction rate among attendees, with an average rating of eight out of ten for the global experience. The festival is set to continue on June 27-28, featuring artists such as Rod Stewart, Cyndi Lauper, Xutos & Pontapés, Central Cee, and 21 Savage, with organizers aiming to make this the largest edition in the festival's history.
