Kaunas Hydroelectric Power Plant Bridge Closed for Summer Construction

Traffic on the Kaunas Hydroelectric Power Plant bridge will be closed throughout the summer due to ongoing construction work. While the closure is in effect, authorities have ensured continued access towards the Pažaislis Monastery to minimize inconvenience for residents. Drivers are urged to plan their journeys ahead of time and utilize alternative routes through other city streets.

Paulius Pachomovas, head of the Kaunas Municipality's Construction Management Department, stated that all construction on the bypass is slated for completion by this autumn. The southeastern bypass project encompasses four stages and will create an 11-kilometer road linking the A1 highway with the "Via Baltica" route towards Warsaw. Upon completion, the project is anticipated to decrease traffic volume, noise, and air pollution on the main streets of Petrašiūnai.
