Kauno Vandenys to Lower Prices for Water Services

Starting July 1, customers of Kauno vandenys will see a slight reduction in their water supply and wastewater treatment bills, with prices decreasing by 2-3 cents (approximately 1%) per cubic meter. This adjustment will lower the tariff for apartment residents from 2.49 to 2.47 Euros (including VAT) and for individual homes from 2.46 to 2.43 Euros (including VAT).

Despite rising operational costs, the company managed to stabilize and even slightly decrease service prices. This achievement is credited to the implementation of efficiency improvements, cost optimization measures, and enhanced energy efficiency practices, alongside an expansion of service volumes. The company also highlighted its investments in renewable energy.

Ramūnas-Petras Šulskus, the general director of Kauno vandenys, stated that the company is consistently investing in renewable energy to bolster its energy independence and security. Currently, over a tenth of its electricity consumption is self-produced, reducing reliance on market fluctuations. This strategy allows Kauno vandenys to maintain some of the lowest water service prices among major Lithuanian cities.
