Kawempe Muslim Students Urged to Embrace Discipline, Hard Work

Students at Kawempe Muslim Secondary School participated in an interactive mentorship session focused on practical life skills, aiming to guide them toward becoming disciplined, responsible, and successful citizens. Ms. Irene Kawuma, Senior Private Secretary to First Lady Janet Museveni, facilitated the session organized by the National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps (NSPC).

Ms. Kawuma introduced mentorship as a process where experienced individuals offer guidance for personal growth. She encouraged learners to seek positive role models and emphasized self-respect and self-worth, advising them to maintain personal hygiene and make responsible choices to preserve their dignity and build confidence. The discussion also tackled common youth anxieties, including academic pressure, fear of failure, low self-esteem, and stress, urging students to overcome these by believing in themselves and staying focused.

She also advised them to choose friends wisely, avoiding those involved in negative behaviors like gossip and drug abuse, and instead associating with individuals who promote discipline and positive growth.
