Kazakhstan Appoints New Ambassadors to Four Countries

Kazakhstan has announced the appointment of new ambassadors to four countries, according to decrees issued by the Head of State. These appointments aim to strengthen diplomatic ties and represent Kazakhstan's interests abroad.

Abylkair Skakov has been appointed as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kyrgyz Republic, succeeding Rapil Zhoshybayev. Skakov, born in 1974, brings a wealth of experience from various public service roles, including positions in the tax authorities, Ministry of Finance, and as Deputy Minister of Defense. He has also chaired the Financial Monitoring Committee, served as Akim of Pavlodar region, and headed the Social Health Insurance Fund. Prior to this appointment, he was an advisor to Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister.

Bakhyt Batyrshayev is the new Ambassador to Qatar, replacing Arman Issagaliyev. Batyrshayev, born in 1973, has dedicated most of his career to diplomacy. His experience includes roles at the Foreign Ministry's central office, Kazakhstan’s Embassy in Egypt, and leading the ministry's Asia and Africa Department. He previously served as ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, and as Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He also previously served as an advisor to the Foreign Minister and is fluent in Arabic and English.

Anel Bakytbekkyzy has been appointed Ambassador to Hungary, succeeding Abzal Saparbekuly. Born in 1980, Bakytbekkyzy began her diplomatic career in 2004 and has served in various capacities, including at Kazakhstan’s Embassy in India, the embassy in Singapore, the Secretariat of CICA, and Kazakhstan’s Permanent Mission to the UN. Since 2023, she has been Consul General in Strasbourg, France. She speaks English, Czech, and French.

Bolat Imanbayev has been appointed Ambassador to Serbia, concurrently relieved of his post as ambassador to Armenia. Imanbayev, born in 1968, has been part of the Foreign Ministry system since 1994. His diplomatic postings include roles in Lithuania, Germany, and Russia, and he served as Consul General in St. Petersburg. He was also ambassador to Malaysia and Brunei, and most recently headed Kazakhstan’s Embassy in Armenia since 2021. He speaks German.
