Kazakhstan braces for heatwave with temperatures up to +41°C

Kazakhstan is set to experience a significant heatwave in the coming days, with temperatures forecast to soar as high as 41 degrees Celsius between August 8 and 10.

The nation's weather will be dominated by a large anticyclone, drawing warm air masses from Iran. This will lead to predominantly hot and dry conditions across most of the country. Northern and eastern regions can expect temperatures to climb between +35 and +39 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, southern areas are bracing for intense heat, with temperatures ranging from +35 to +41 degrees Celsius. Western and central parts of Kazakhstan will also see a sharp rise, with temperatures reaching +36 to +41 degrees Celsius, with some areas anticipating extreme heat.

Despite the widespread dry conditions, certain regions are expected to receive precipitation. In western and northwestern Kazakhstan, a northwestern cyclone and atmospheric fronts are predicted to bring thunderstorms and stronger winds towards the end of the period. Hail is also a possibility in these areas. Thunderstorms are forecast for the east of the republic at the beginning of this period. Additionally, mountainous regions in the south and southeast will experience thunderstorms throughout all three days.
