Kazakhstan Discusses Gaza Reconstruction and Regional Connectivity with Peace Council Advisor

Kazakhstan's commitment to global peace and security was underscored as President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Aryeh Lightstone, Senior Advisor to the Peace Council, to discuss the nation's participation in rebuilding Gaza.

Tokayev emphasized the significance of Kazakhstan's role as a co-founder of the Peace Council, expressing confidence in its ability to strengthen international peace and security. The discussions focused on Kazakhstan's proposed initiatives for stabilizing the Gaza Strip, which include contributions to reconstructing social infrastructure and supporting programs in education, healthcare, and food security.

Aryeh Lightstone conveyed greetings from U.S. President Donald Trump and commended Kazakhstan's active engagement within the Peace Council and its adherence to the Abraham Accords. The meeting also explored avenues for enhanced cooperation in the transport and logistics sector, specifically mentioning the TRIPP initiative and collaboration along the Middle Corridor. Both parties highlighted Kazakhstan's strategic interest in improving interregional connectivity and diversifying international transport routes.

This engagement follows President Tokayev's signing of the Peace Council charter in January, an initiative spearheaded by U.S. President Donald Trump. Trump had previously expressed gratitude for Kazakhstan's contributions to stability and recovery efforts in Gaza, referring to the country as "beautiful and wealthy" during the organization's inaugural meeting.
