Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital has launched a new "Keratoconus Center," aiming to offer integrated, cross-departmental treatment for patients suffering from this eye condition. The center brings together specialists from ophthalmology, dermatology, and rheumatology-immunology to provide comprehensive care.

An estimated 40,000 individuals in Taiwan are affected by keratoconus, a progressive eye disorder. Recent clinical observations suggest a growing number of patients, a trend attributed to rising allergy rates and increased screen time associated with electronic devices. Early detection and timely intervention are considered crucial to prevent significant vision deterioration.
