Keelung Temple Festival to Distribute Lucky Money, God of Wealth Figurines

Keelung's Qing Ji Temple is set to hold its Mazu God of Wealth cultural festival on July 5, promising a day filled with blessings and entertainment. The temple plans to distribute 668 "lucky money" packets and figurines of the God of Wealth, all blessed to bring good fortune to attendees. This event aims to provide spiritual and festive experiences for the community.

The festival's program includes a variety of activities designed for families and the public. In the morning, a cultural ceremony will take place, with a representative from the Democratic Progressive Party's deputy secretary-general attending to unveil a plaque. Following this, attendees can participate in DIY activities, such as a dyed fan workshop with 300 available kits. The event will also feature a market with 40 stalls, including food trucks, and performances by 25 teams from local schools and organizations.

In the evening, the festivities will continue with a "God of Wealth jumping to bestow wealth" performance, live music from popular singers, and a lucky draw. The top prize is an electric scooter, with other prizes including 65-inch and 55-inch televisions. To ensure the safety and smooth running of the event, several roads around the temple will be closed to traffic. Autonomy Street, Nanxing Road, and Kaiyuan Road will experience closures from 8 a.m. or 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. Visitors are advised to use Chongzhi Street, Guangming Road, and Mingde Road instead.
