Kia accelerates sustainable mobility in Ecuador with four new hybrid models

Kia is accelerating its commitment to sustainable mobility in Ecuador by introducing four new hybrid models. This expansion broadens the range of electrified options available to various customer profiles in the country.

During the AutoShow Guayaquil 2026, Kia unveiled the Full Hybrid versions of its popular Sportage, Sorento, and Carnival models. Additionally, the brand launched the refreshed All-new Kia Seltos, which is available in both hybrid and combustion engine variants.

The introduction of these hybrid vehicles is part of Kia's global 'Plan S' strategy. This initiative is built upon three core pillars: Sustainable Energy, Sustainable Mobility, and a Sustainable Planet. The Full Hybrid technology combines internal combustion engines with electric motors that work together and recharge automatically while driving, eliminating the need for external charging.

The Kia Sportage Full Hybrid features a 2.0 GDI engine, hybrid technology, and a six-speed automatic transmission, delivering 198 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. It boasts an impressive range of over 1,200 kilometers, suitable for both city driving and longer road trips. The vehicle accommodates five passengers and offers 633 liters of luggage space. Safety features include Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), such as front and blind-spot collision prevention, lane keeping and following assistance, rear cross-traffic alert, and a 360° surround-view monitor.

For those needing more space, the Kia Sorento Full Hybrid is equipped with a 1.6 T-GDI engine, hybrid technology, and a six-speed automatic transmission, producing 238 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque, with a range also exceeding 1,200 kilometers. Its three-row configuration allows for up to seven passengers. The Sorento also integrates ADAS, a 360° surround-view monitor, Intelligent Cruise Control, Shift By Wire technology, a panoramic sunroof, and a 25-inch panoramic display.

The Kia Carnival Full Hybrid extends electrification to larger vehicles, featuring a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with a hybrid system and a six-speed automatic transmission. It generates 242 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque, with a range over 1,200 kilometers. This family-oriented model offers eight seats across three rows, three-zone automatic climate control, a dual sunroof, electronic door opening, rotating seats, and eight airbags, balancing efficiency with ample space.
