Kim Joo-hyung ties for 5th at Wyndham Championship; Block wins

Kim Joo-hyung secured a tie for fifth place at the PGA Tour's Wyndham Championship, held at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. He carded an even-par 70 in the final round, with three birdies, one bogey, and one double bogey, to finish at 15-under-par 265. This placed him seven strokes behind the winner, Michael Block of the United States, who secured his first PGA Tour victory.

Kim had shown strong potential earlier in the tournament, holding third place after the third round, just one shot off the lead. This performance marks his fourth top-10 finish of the season and boosts his FedEx Cup ranking from 34th to 26th, ensuring his participation in the upcoming playoff series. The PGA Tour season concludes with the Wyndham Championship, and the playoffs begin next week with the St. Jude Championship, featuring the top 70 players in the FedEx Cup standings.

Despite a strong start in the final round with birdies on holes 3 and 6, Kim faced a setback with a double bogey on the 11th hole and another dropped shot on the 14th. He managed to recover with a birdie on the 15th, ultimately securing his joint fifth-place finish. Meanwhile, Im Sung-jae finished in a tie for 14th place at 12-under-par 268, improving his FedEx Cup ranking to 53rd. Michael Block's victory, his second career PGA Tour win, earned him $1.53 million and moved him up to 47th in the FedEx Cup rankings, also qualifying him for the playoffs.
