Kim Si-woo, Kim Joo-hyung Reach PGA Tour Championship; Im Sung-jae Misses Out

South Korean golfers Kim Si-woo and Kim Joo-hyung have secured their spots in the prestigious PGA Tour Championship, the season-ending event, marking a significant achievement for Korean men's golf. However, their compatriot Im Sung-jae saw his seven-year streak of appearances in the championship come to an end.

Kim Si-woo qualified comfortably, ranking fifth in the FedEx Cup standings. Kim Joo-hyung also made the cut, securing the 29th spot in the FedEx Cup rankings, just enough to make it into the top 30 players who compete in the final event. This marks Kim Joo-hyung's return to the Tour Championship after a three-year absence, a comeback fueled by a strong performance following a slump, including a win at the Genesis Scottish Open.

Im Sung-jae's bid to reach the Tour Championship was thwarted at the BMW Championship, the second event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. He finished tied for 10th in the tournament, but his overall FedEx Cup ranking landed him at 37th, outside the top 30 cutoff. This is the first time since 2018 that Im has not qualified for the season finale.

The Tour Championship, set to take place at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, will feature the top 30 players competing for a $40 million prize pool. The tournament employs a staggered scoring system, starting all players at or below even par, adding an element of unpredictability to the race for the season's ultimate title and a $10 million bonus for the winner.
