King Mohammed VI congratulates U.S. on National Day

King Mohammed VI of Morocco extended congratulations to U.S. President Donald Trump on the occasion of the United States' National Day, July 4th.

In a message, the King conveyed his "sincerest congratulations and best wishes" on behalf of himself and the Moroccan people. He emphasized the 250th anniversary of American independence also marks a significant milestone in the enduring relationship between the two nations. Morocco holds a unique place in this history, being the first country to recognize the United States' independence.

The King described the deep-rooted relationship, built on "profound friendship and loyalty," as currently being "richer and more fruitful than ever." He specifically referenced President Trump's historic recognition of Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara, stating it "will remain etched in the memory of Moroccans for generations to come."

Beyond political ties, King Mohammed VI lauded the "unprecedented momentum" in trade and economic exchanges, expressing confidence that bilateral relations are progressing toward their "best stages." He also commended the security and military cooperation between Morocco and the U.S. as a "model of excellence" and a "cornerstone" for protecting citizens, defending shared values, and safeguarding mutual interests, citing the "African Lion" military exercises hosted by Morocco as an example.
