KLASIK Brings a Packed Lineup of Classics and Major Titles This Autumn

KLASIK TV is opening its autumn season with a lineup built around cult series, film premieres and familiar regional favorites. The schedule begins on September 15 with The Written-Offs, a story of young underground fighters resisting occupation in Belgrade.

The series centers on Prle, played by Dragan Nikolić, and Tihi, played by Voja Brajović. KLASIK describes the pair as pop-culture icons whose roles helped define the show’s reputation. Its fast-moving action, departure from the ideological formulas common at the time and memorable theme by Milivoje Marković helped make it a landmark television thriller.

After The Written-Offs, viewers will move into the Popadić family home for Better Life. The series follows its familiar characters through romantic, professional and financial complications. The plot turns on an unusual inheritance left by the sister of family head Siniša Popadić, whose will includes a series of unexpected conditions. The show begins on October 4.

The film schedule starts with Gori Vatra, a dramatic comedy set in postwar Tešanj in the late 1990s. Residents prepare for Bill Clinton’s arrival while the mayor tries to construct an idyllic image of the town. Corruption, poverty and crime prove impossible to conceal.

The end of October brings the premiere of Summer in the Golden Valley. Its central character, Fikret Varupa, learns at his father’s funeral that his father owed a large debt to a complete stranger named Hamid. When Hamid insists on payment, Fikret takes on the family’s moral burden and enters Sarajevo’s underworld in an attempt to clear his family name.
