KMT Calls Taishin 'Conscientious Enterprise'! Hsieh Chin-ho Exposes Major Shareholder's Criminal Past, Demands Local Government Accountability

Financial commentator Hsieh Chin-ho has strongly refuted the KMT's characterization of Taishin Enterprise as a "conscientious enterprise" in light of the ongoing toxic oil scandal. Hsieh stated that labeling the company as such is akin to trying to paint black cloth white, emphasizing that the company's problematic background cannot be ignored.

Hsieh brought to light the history of Taishin's major shareholder, Chu Kuo-jung, revealing his past involvement in a bank robbery in Macau that resulted in a death. After fleeing to Taiwan, Chu was apprehended, later declared a "righteous anti-communist fighter," and obtained ROC citizenship. However, he was arrested again in the 1990s for arms smuggling and money laundering.

Hsieh further criticized local governments for their perceived failure to promptly identify issues with the imported carcinogenic soybeans used by Zhonglian Oil, a supplier to Taishin, Fwusow, and Formosa Oil. He noted that Nan Chiao was the first to detect anomalies but did not report them immediately. While acknowledging the need for central government action, Hsieh also stressed that local authorities bear significant responsibility, a point he feels is being overlooked as opposition parties shift blame solely to the central government.
