Lee firmly stated that the application process was entirely in accordance with regulations. Speaking at a rally in Yonghe District to support the KMT's New Taipei City mayoral candidate, Lee emphasized that the KMT adheres strictly to established procedures when applying for subsidies. He added that if there are perceived issues, the party is willing to reconsider its application, but stressed that the current application is not illegal. The KMT's approach to seeking such funding, particularly for cross-strait exchanges, often invites scrutiny.
