Ko Wen-je joins street sweep to boost TPP morale in New Taipei City

Taiwan People's Party founder Ko Wen-je joined local councilor candidate Chen Yi-chun on a street sweep in Zhonghe's Shengli Market on November 1st. The event aimed to energize the party's local election campaign, which has faced challenges following a recent announcement by party chairman Huang Kuo-chang supporting a rival KMT mayoral candidate.

With the KMT's mayoral candidate, Li Chuan, and other KMT councilors busy with their own campaign events, the TPP's local candidates are focusing on joint operations. They have been holding press conferences to gain exposure and have targeted the DPP's mayoral candidate, Su Chiao-hui, in an effort to project an image of blue-white cooperation.

Ko Wen-je, without taking media questions, walked through the market with Chen Yi-chun, greeting vendors and residents under the hot sun. He distributed promotional items for Chen, aiming to boost the TPP's standing in New Taipei City's councilor elections. The public's reaction was calm, with some people recognizing Ko and taking photos with him and Chen.
