Ko Wen-je Seeks Clarity on Tsai Pi-ju's Surprise Monastic Retreat

Tsai Pi-ju, a former legislator for Taiwan's People Party and a close aide to party founder Ko Wen-je, has announced she will embark on a short-term monastic retreat.

Tsai shared her decision on Facebook, stating she would go to Fo Guang Shan in Kaohsiung to practice compassion and cultivate wisdom. She expressed a desire to reconnect with her original intentions and seek inner peace. Tsai indicated she would be out of contact until August 2nd, when she expects to resume communication.

Ko Wen-je, when asked about Tsai's announcement, responded with caution. He stated that he needed to understand the reasons behind her decision before offering any comment.
