Kogi Central PDP appoints 2027 campaign leaders

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nigeria's Kogi Central Senatorial District has officially launched its campaign preparations for the 2027 general elections by appointing key leadership roles. Dr. Salami Etudaiye has been appointed as the Director-General of the campaign organization, with Abubakar Karaku stepping in as Campaign Chairman.

This campaign must be house-to-house and polling unit-by-polling unit. We must reach our people directly, listen to them, engage them and explain clearly why the PDP remains the best platform for the development and progress of our people.

The appointments were formalized during a stakeholders' meeting on Monday, presided over by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. The newly inaugurated campaign team has been mandated to implement an aggressive grassroots mobilization strategy, aiming to secure victory for all PDP candidates within the senatorial district. Other significant appointments include Jacob Anebe as Secretary, Ilyasu Zubair as Head of Operations, Isiaka Uhuanaye as Head of Technicals, and Jane Onoba as Head of Welfare.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan urged the campaign team to prioritize direct voter engagement and sustained mobilization, moving beyond traditional rallies. She emphasized a "house-to-house and polling unit-by-polling unit" approach to connect directly with constituents, understand their needs, and articulate the PDP's platform for development. She also stressed the importance of inclusivity, welcoming all who support the PDP's vision for Kogi Central.

In his acceptance speech, Etudaiye described his appointment as a profound responsibility, pledging to leverage his experience and organizational capacity to achieve victory for the PDP. He stated his intention to build a formidable political structure across the senatorial district, underscoring that the role is a mandate for substantive political organization rather than mere ceremony.
