Kombes Pol Jerrold Kumontoy to Lead Independence Day Flag Lowering Ceremony

Kombes Pol Jerrold Hendra Yosef Kumontoy has been appointed as the Commander of the Flag Lowering Ceremony for the 81st anniversary of Indonesian Independence. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on August 17th.

Kumontoy, who currently holds the position of Police Chief of Balikpapan, was chosen for this significant role after undergoing a selection process. He was chosen among several officers from both the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri).

Originally from Minahasa and born in Tomohon, North Sulawesi, Kumontoy also has ties to Tondano. His appointment as commander of the ceremony is a notable state duty entrusted to him during his service in the Indonesian National Police.

Reflecting on his selection, Kumontoy expressed his deep gratitude for the opportunity to represent the Polri in this national event. He stated that being chosen to represent the police up to this point is something he is very thankful for, emphasizing the valuable experiences gained through the process.
