Kookmin University Publishes Comprehensive Guide to Asian Games Governance

Kookmin University's Graduate School of Olympic Studies has released a significant new publication, "The Asian Games: OCA Governance and Understanding Asian Olympics," just ahead of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Summer Asian Games. This book marks a milestone as the first comprehensive academic work in Korea to systematically detail the history, governance, and administration of Asian sports, with a specific focus on the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

The publication delves into a wide array of topics crucial for understanding the landscape of Asian sports. It covers the historical evolution and values of the Asian Games, the organizational structure and governance of the OCA, and the necessary competencies for roles within international sports organizations. Additionally, it addresses critical aspects such as anti-doping regulations and safeguarding policies, providing a holistic view of sports administration in the region.

Authored by Professor Juhee Park, a leading expert in international sports diplomacy and administration who also chairs the OCA Athletes' Relations Committee and heads Kookmin University's Asian Olympic Research Center, the book integrates her extensive practical experience with academic insights. She is joined by other distinguished faculty members from the Graduate School of Olympic Studies, including Younghee Cho, Sangah Lim, and Yujin Jeong, ensuring the book's depth and academic rigor.
