Kookmin University to Select 28% Through Major Autonomy System; Holds Admissions Strategy Briefing for 2027

Kookmin University hosted an 'Admissions Strategy Briefing for the 2027 Academic Year' on July 4th, aiming to guide approximately 250 high school seniors and their parents through the early admissions process. The event, held at the university's main building, shared insights from the 2026 admissions cycle and outlined key aspects of the 2027 early admissions, offering practical advice for prospective students.

The briefing featured both lectures and one-on-one consultations with admissions officers. Key topics included an analysis of the 2026 early admissions results and strategic guidance for 2027. A special lecture, "Hearing from Admissions Officers: All About the Student Record Comprehensive Admissions System," provided in-depth information on this crucial admission track. The individual consultations were designed to help students and parents develop personalized application strategies based on their specific circumstances.

For the 2027 early admissions, Kookmin University plans to admit a total of 1,796 students (excluding those admitted through special quotas). The 'Major Autonomy Selection System,' allowing students to choose or change their major after admission, will account for 200 of these spots. Other major admission tracks include the "Excellent Student Record" (school principal recommendation) for 586 students, primarily in humanities and natural sciences, and the "Kookmin Frontier" comprehensive admissions track for 724 students. The essay-based admissions track will recruit 205 students.
