Kopassus Holds Readiness Drill at Bogor Regency Government Complex

Indonesia's elite Kopassus special forces recently conducted a readiness drill at the government complex of Bogor Regency in Cibinong, West Java. The exercise, carried out by the 13th Battalion of Group 1 Kopassus, was fully supported by the local government and regional leadership coordination forum (Forkopimda).

Lieutenant Colonel Inf Gery Heikal Cholid, Commander of the 13th Battalion, expressed gratitude for the support, highlighting the drill's importance in maintaining the unit's readiness to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies. He proudly noted the battalion's achievement as the best Paratrooper unit this year, attributing it to the soldiers' relentless daily training, which includes shooting, physical fitness, and tactical exercises.

Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto, along with Forkopimda members, observed the drill. Susmanto stressed that the exercise was more than just a ceremony; it represented a strengthening of cross-sectoral coordination and preparedness within Bogor Regency. He emphasized that government officials and security forces are public servants tasked with protecting and serving the community.

Susmanto underscored the necessity of strong collaboration among all government elements and security apparatus to address development challenges and maintain regional stability. With a population of 6.1 million, Bogor Regency requires synergy through regular coordination and communication to formulate strategic development steps. He also acknowledged the vital role of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) in supporting territorial development, citing the presence of units like the 13th Battalion Group 1 Kopassus and other Kostrad units in the region.
