Kosovo arrests another suspect for war crimes in Zubin Potok

Kosovo's Special Prosecutor's Office has reported the arrest of an additional individual in the municipality of Zubin Potok, suspected of committing war crimes during the Kosovo conflict. The suspect faces charges of war crimes against the civilian population.

This arrest comes as excavations are ongoing near Zubin Potok. Authorities are searching for the remains of 23 people, referred to as the "intellectuals' group," who were reportedly abducted on April 19, 1999. Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti indicated that the excavation process could take months due to the terrain and the scattered nature of the remains.

Previously, on July 28, two men were arrested in Zubin Potok on suspicion of committing war crimes against the civilian Albanian population during the 1999 conflict. At that time, police stated that the two arrested Kosovar men were suspected of killing 23 Albanian civilians during the war.
