Kosovo: Person arrested for allegedly inciting shooting of Ramush Haradinaj

Authorities in Kosovo have arrested an individual suspected of calling for the assassination of politician Ramush Haradinaj. The alleged threat was made during an "Open Day for the Diaspora" event held at the Kosovo Assembly.

Fljora Ahmeti, spokesperson for the Pristina region police, confirmed the arrest. She stated that the suspect was apprehended by the General Investigation Unit of the Regional Police Directorate in Pristina and will face procedural measures in coordination with the state prosecutor.

Prior to the arrest announcement, the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Pristina had initiated an investigation into the incident. The alleged call to shoot Haradinaj, a prominent figure and member of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), occurred within the assembly premises.

Ramush Haradinaj, a former Prime Minister of Kosovo, has been a significant political figure in the region. The nature of the "Open Day for Diaspora" event and the specific context of the alleged threat remain under investigation.
