Olympiacos captain Kostas Papanikolaou has etched his name further into the club's history books, achieving a significant personal milestone. Just days after celebrating a third European title with Olympiacos, and his first as captain, Papanikolaou reached a new level of club legacy.

During the second game of the finals series against Panathinaikos at the OAKA arena, the experienced forward made his 365th appearance for Olympiacos in the Stoiximan GBL. This achievement moved him into second place on the club's all-time appearances list, surpassing his close friend and long-time teammate, Georgios Printezis.

Although Olympiacos did not secure a victory in the game, losing 68-58 and seeing the series tied at 1-1, Papanikolaou had a personal reason to remember the match. His surpassing of Printezis in appearances marks a notable chapter in his illustrious career with the Piraeus-based club.

Furthermore, Papanikolaou's total appearances in the Stoiximan GBL now stand at 379. This figure places him in a tie for 20th place on the all-time league appearances list, matching the record held by Antonis Asimakopoulos. The captain's consistent presence and contributions continue to define his legacy within Greek basketball.
